Junior Youth Bible Study - Choice

Junior Youth Bible Study
March 18/10

So today’s bible study is about Choices we all have a lot of Choices that we need to make in our lives, and these choices define who we are going to be in our lives.
I going to tell you guys a few stories of guys in the bible who had to make choices that were going to define their futures.

• Joseph – Genesis 37
  • Joseph was sold into slavery by his brothers
  • Joseph was taken to Egypt
  • Ended up in the house of Potiphar
  • Joseph ended up with decision to make, was he going to act with integrity even though the consequences of following God in that decision would be time in prision.
• Mosses – Exodus 3
  • Mosses grow up in Pharaoh’s house, he was a Jew that grow up as part of the family of pharaoh.
  • Mosses new his heritage
  • Mosses killed an Egyptian guard and then fled to desert.
  • God met him there in the burning bush
  • Mosses had to decision to make whether he was going to follow God and go back to Egypt to rescue the Israelites or not.
• David – I Samuel 17
  • David and Goliath
  • Goliath was making fun of the God Israelites but all of the soldiers of Israel were too scared to go fight Goliath because he was so big.
  • David came on the scene and heard Goliath making fun of God and stands up and says I will fight him.
  • David says you may be big but the God that I serve is bigger.
  • David makes a stand for what is right, even though it was tough.
We to are faced with some really tough decisions as well. When I was in junior high the most important thing to me was to be cool and this got me into a lot of trouble. I did not want stand up for God because that was not cool, instead I started smoking, swearing , and treating people badly (bullying). I gave into peer pressure and we all face peer pressure, but how are we going to react when it is put to the test and we need to make choice to do what is right or do what is easiest?

I want to encourage you all to stand strong and let your lives have a positive impact on the people around you it won’t always be easy but God will give you the strength to make the hard decisions.
